Guest Designer: My Creative Scrapbook

It seems like such a long time ago that the delightful Delaina Burns asked me to be GD at My Creative Scrapbook.  Unfortuntely due to other commitments it took nearly a year to guest design but I was finally locked in for March.  I had the gorgeous and versatile Limited Edition Kit sent out to me, containing Webster's Pages Modern Romance Papers & Embellishments, and Kaisercraft Secret Admirer Papers.  They were a beautiful combination together, and I just would love to share my 4 projects with you.

I created two layouts, the first one using a photo I have been busting to use for a LONG time now.  It never fails to amaze me how you never get around to scrapping "that" photo that you fell in love with when you took it...... Anyhow the rich colors work really well with the lush colors of the papers on this layout.

A tag using my beloved Spellbinders ..... sigh ......

A card ....

and one final layout.  I loved this one, because I could combine the elements in the kit with some of my fav. Rhonna Swirls printed onto transparency.  It just seemed to finish off the layout for me.

I used some Melissa Frances crepe paper to make these rosettes.  Here is a how to ....
1.      When you take your MF Crepe Paper out from the packet, make sure that it is still folded over two or three times before cutting.  Cut into the paper at about 2" from flush and continue on to the reach the end.  Open up paper to reveal a long strip of crepe paper.

2.      Select the biggest stitch on your sewing machine.  Proceed to sew down the middle of the crepe paper.   If you don't have a machine you can hand stitch the paper in long  loose stitches, but the machine is definitely quicker !!!!
Two

3.      This is roughly what your crepe paper will now look like.

4.      Hang onto the threads and gently push the crepe paper down so it starts ruffling.  Gently guide the ruffles down to the end of the thread and continue from the top again, repeat this process until all your crepe paper is ruffled.  You can control the appearance of your ruffle by how tightly you push the crepe paper together.

Then once ruffled all you have to do is punch out a circle, lather with glue and arrange your ruffle in a circle - its that easy !!!!  I have popped embellishments on the top just to secure the crepe paper and make it lush and pretty mirroring the layout.

OH and before I forget .....  CONGRATULATIONS

Welcome Back .... Blog Giveaway .......

Oh... so this is what my blog looks like !!! .... I am so so sorry I haven't blogged for nearly 8 weeks now, guilty as charged **blush**.  So I have decided to make it up to you by having a blog RAK.  I am very generous with my giveaways (just ask the recipients of the last three) so all you have to do is become a Google Reader (I lost everybody when I switched from typepad to blogger) and leave me a comment at the end of this post.......

So what do you get I hear you ask.... well gorgeous products from these amazing manufacturers .....

On the home front, both Emma and Madison have returned to Calisthenics at Brighton.  They both have a natural ability to dance, and its just a pleasure watching them practice and perform.  Somehow, I have been coaxed back into dancing again, (after a 15 year break mind you), joining the Brighton Masters.  I think we do more laughing than anything else, and I have discovered muscles I didn't know I had over the last 3 weeks !!  Anyhow, if you are lucky, I will post some photos in the future.

Just before Christmas I was blessed enough to be invited up to the talented Belinda Spencer's farm in the Adelaide Hills for a visit and photo session.  The farm is absolutely gorgeous with the little deers and haystacks and was perfect for snapping a few photos of the girls.  Emma was having a "I really don't want to be in front of the camera again day" so unfortunately, I only really got this one photo of her that I was pleased with.

However, Madi was more than happy to be snapped and I got some amazing photos of her on that beautifully textured hay and backdrop.  So pleased the way these turned out.

Ok, so onto some shares that have gone up over at the Prima Blog, the first one from the Lifetime Collection.  Lifetime is one of those collections that is timeless and elegant, colored perfectly to match so many photos and themes...and the patterns are vintage, yet so funky!  It's such a gorgeous mix.

This project is from the Ladybird Collection.  I kinda was a little freaked out with the colors (not a huge fan of orange), but creating this page was like a breath of fresh spring air. LadyBird will bring rays of sunshine to your projects. Created with bright happy colors, and clean graphics i found it so easy to work with.  Don't you just love that photo of Madison .... the little tulle skirt is from Collette Dinnigan's Range for kids over at Target.  I just fell in love with it.

I thought I would leave my fav. layout till last.  This one was created with the newly released Lyric Collection.  I love the mix of peach, pink, white, and black; its so striking when everything is put together.

So thanks for making your way back over here guys, I am back in the full swing of creating now, and have lots to share over the coming year.

Don't forget to leave a comment when you join my Google readers (and remember - even if you already follow my blog) leave a comment as anybody can enter from international to local girls.  This RAK will be open for a week xo
